Fluortubing USA LLC is investing nearly $800,000 to expand its operations to allow it to construct pipe in-house.
“This is a perfect example of a small business flourishing in Kentucky . In seven years, Fluortubing has grown from a distribution warehouse with two employees to a self-sustaining manufacturing operation that supplies hose lines to companies around the world,” said Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear in a news release.
Fluortubing makes PTFE tubing for use in the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries. The company is expanding its operations in Campbellsville, Ky., to include an extrusion tower and mixing rooms to manufacture pipe. Currently, it imports pipe from parent company Fluortubing BV of Utrecht, the Netherlands, and processes the tubing to increase strength and durability.
The expansion will create 10 full-time jobs.
Fluortubing general manager Ryan Emmerling said in a statement that the company has working within the community and that a financial package developed by local and county officials has helped to make the expansion financially feasible.
The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority has given tentative approval for the company to receive tax incentives up to $150,000 through the Kentucky Business Investment program. The program allows a company to keep a portion of its investment through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments by meeting job and investment targets.
The company purchased a 48,000 square foot facility in Campbellsville in 2008.
Fluortubing has a licensing agreement with DuPont Co., of Wilmington, Del., to make Teflon-brand PTFE tubing. |
